On October 26, 2017, Queen's women's hockey alumnae joined together to present current Gael Taylor Hicks with the 1970's Women's Hockey Championship Award. Taylor is currently in her first year studying Arts & Science at Queen's and is a forward on the women's hockey team.

In honour of Queen's hosting the women's hockey U SPORTS championships in March 2017, this award was created on behalf of our women's hockey alumnae who won championships throughout the 1970's (1973, 1975, 1977 and 1979). An impressive group of 27 alumnae contributed to ensure this award could be given out to a current athlete in the fall of 2017.

Thank you to all women's hockey alumnae who contributed to the 1970's Women's Hockey Championship Award - if you would like to give to this award, please visit https://www.givetoqueens.ca/whockey70s.
