Queen's Field Hockey travelled to Waterloo this Friday to play their season opener against the Waterloo Warriors. The Gaels came out strong, showing solid teamwork and composure. Waterloo was able to score a goal early in the game on a penalty corner. The Gaels held them off for most of the second period but Waterloo scored in the 24th minute. The Gaels used the halftime break to reset and were able to keep the half scoreless until late in the 4th quarter when Waterloo was awarded a penalty stroke. Sarah Downes almost made the save, but the Warriors were able to score.
