MONTREAL (August 9, 2014) - The Queen's Gaels men's basketball team kicked off their exhibition schedule in Montreal where they fell 95-53 to the Vermont Catamounts at,École Saint-Jean-De-Brébeuf high school.
The Catamounts, who compete in the America East conference in the NCAA, proved to be too much for the Gaels who sported a lineup that included six new players mixed with five returning veterans from last years squad.
Mark Paclibar (Minesing, Ont.) and standout rookie from a year ago
Mike Shoveller (Arnprior, Ont.) led the way for the Gaels with 11 and eight points respectively. Paclibar also added five rebounds to tie two-time OUA All-Star
Greg Faulkner (Kingston, Ont.) for the team lead in the game.
Vermont put forth a strong team effort as they finished with seven players who scored nine or more points in the game. Ironically enough it was a Canadian for Vermont who led them in scoring as Trae Bell-Hayes (Toronto) finished with a game high 13 points while adding two rebounds.
In his first game with the tricolour Tanner Graham (Kingston, Ont.) put up an impressive nine points hitting three shots from beyond the arc and adding one rebound.
