KINGSTON, Ont. (October 1, 2014) - The men's basketball team hosts Guelph at 8pm on Friday, Trinity Western at 4pm on Saturday, and McGill at 4pm on Sunday at the Tindall Invitational Tournament this weekend, with all games to be played at the Athletics & Recreation Centre.

The Gaels play their first game of the Tindall Invitational against Guelph at 8pm on Friday at the ARC. Queen's hosted Guelph in the second game of the 2013-14 regular season, beating the Gryphons 88-64. The Gaels led by as much as 40 points in the game, as
Greg Faulkner (Kingston, Ont.) finished with a 23 point and 11 rebound double-double for Queen's. Guelph's Trevor Thompson had a team-high 14 points in the loss, while Taylor Boers was named to the OUA West All-Rookie team last year with the best three-point percentage in the CIS.
On day two of the tournament, the Gaels play Trinity Western at 4pm. The Gaels and Spartans finished last year with identical regular season records, both at 10-12. Last season, Trinity Western missed the playoffs for the first time since they were the CIS Championship Finalists in 2010-11. Fifth year Denny McDonald was the Spartans leading scorer last year, averaging 14.6 points per game, and was also 13th in the CIS in offensive rebounds.
Queen's plays McGill in the final game of the Tindall Invitational at 4pm on Sunday. The Gaels went 1-1 against McGill in preseason action last year, with the school from Montreal coming out on top 72-62 when the two teams played in Ottawa, before Queen's beat the Redmen 86-78 in overtime when McGill hosted the Redbird Classic. McGill has won back-to-back RSEQ Championships, and has also gone to the CIS Final 8 both of the last two years. Vincent Dufort returns to the McGill lineup as the reigning RSEQ MVP.
