Conroy powers Gaels to 4-1 win over UOIT

KINGSTON, Ont. (January 28, 2011) – Becky Conroy of Pembroke, Ont., scored two goals for the Gaels, leading them to a 4-1 win over UOIT on home ice.

The Gaels won their fifth game in the last seven, thanks to the Conroy-Kench-Thomson line, contributing six points on two goals. Morgan McHaffie of Guelph Ont., scored the first goal for the Gaels, before Conroy added insurance to the lead. Rookie Shawna Griffin of Redwood Meadows, Alta., added a fourth goal.

UOIT's Jill Morillo of Whitby, Ont. scored the game's first goal on goaltender Mel Dodd-Moher of Stittsville, Ont. Dodd-Moher did not make another mistake, stopping 11 of 12 shots on the night.

Queen's plays on the road their next two games, starting with Brock University on February 5th. The Gaels then play Guelph on February 6th. The regular season concludes with two home games against Toronto on February 12th at the Kingston Memorial Centre, and York on February 13th at Constantine Arena.
