KINGSTON, Ont. (July 12, 2010) – Men's Hockey head coach
Brett Gibson has announced that former Kingston Frontenacs assistant coach and assistant general manager
Tony Cimellaro will be on board with the team as an assistant coach next season.
Cimellaro, who spent eight years as a coach with the Frontenacs organization, also played two years for the Frontenacs between 1989 and 1991, tallying 34 goals and 56 assists in 126 games. He also suited up for the Ottawa Senators for two games in their inaugural season.
"It is exciting to embark on another challege in my coaching career,” said Cimellaro. “I am comfortable with Brett and I hope I can bring some different ideas to a team that is on the rise in the OUA. I have followed this team a lot and feel they are very close to being a top team in Ontario and that is very exciting for me.”
"I am excited at the opportunity to coach with Tony again,” commented Gibson. “His knowledge and contacts in the game are second to none. He will be able to help me in recruiting players out of the OHL as he has a great feel for the league."
Cimellaro replaces former assistant coach
Adrian Haird who is leaving the team to spend more time with his wife and newborn child.
