Zeeman named Queen's/OUA Athlete of the Week

KINGSTON, Ont. (March 8, 2010) – Queen's Athletics & Recreation is pleased to announce that
Joren Zeeman of Cambridge, Ont., has been named the Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 7.
UPDATE: Zeeman was also announced as the OUA Male Athlete of the Week on Monday.
Zeeman was named the Mikasa player of the game as the Queen's Gaels defeated the Guelph Gryphons to capture the OUA men's volleyball championship. The third year physical and health education major recorded 24 points in the match, including a game-high 19 kills, as the Gaels came from behind to defeat the upstart Gryphons. Two of Zeeman's 19 kills came on the final two points of the match as the Gaels turned to their OUA First Team All-Star to propel them to the CIS Championship. The 6'6 outside hitter also had 17 kills and 19 points the night before as Queen's overcame a two set deficit to defeat the Western Mustangs in five sets.
