ANTIGONISH, N.S. (March 10, 2010) -
Becky Conroy of Pembroke, Ont., and
Mel Dodd-Moher of Stittsville, Ont., added another accomplishment to their excellent seasons as Conroy was selected as a CIS Second Team All-Canadian and Dodd-Moher was named to the CIS All-Rookie Team, as announced by the CIS Wednesday night.
For Conroy, this is her first selection as a CIS All-Canadian. The fourth year forward notched career highs in goals (17), assists (17) and points (34) as she finished second in the OUA and fifth in the CIS in scoring. The history major also tallied five game-winning goals which was good enough for fourth in the nation.
As for Dodd-Moher, she enjoyed a standout rookie season between the pipes for the Gaels. She appeared in 20 games for Queen's, posing a 13-5-2 record with a 1.82 goals against average and a 0.942 save percentage. Those numbers were good enough to rank her sixth in both categories among starting goaltenders in the CIS. The biology major also had three shutouts on the season.
