Summerside, P.E.I. (August 28, 2009) – Members of the Queen's Volleyball teams have helped Team Ontario advance to the Gold Medal matchup in the Men's and Women's competitions at the Canada Summer Games.
The women's team, which includes 4 Queen's Gaels (Lorna Button, Kristin Collins, Natalie Gray and Katie Matthews) will face off in the gold against Manitoba, after defeating Alberta in straight sets in the semifinals (25-20, 25-22 and 25-19). All four of the tri-colour crew saw action in the semifinal.
On the men's side, Alberta disposed of B.C. in straight sets for the right to take on Ontario, who swept past Manitoba by scores of 25-16, 25-23 and 25-22. Gaels Daniel Rosenbaum, Niko Rukavina and Michael Amoroso will all be part of the action as Alberta and Ontario battle for Gold tomorrow (Saturday) at 11am.
