Ulitimate Frisbee
Maryland, M.D. USA (November 16, 2008) - The Queen's men's ultimate team traveled to Maryland this past weekend to compete in the Colonial Ultimate Frisbee Festival, a tournament featuring a strong field of 54 college teams. Teams included Duke, Princeton, Penn State, Boston College, University of Pennsylvania, and George Washington.

In pool play on Saturday Queen’s would defeat Bucknell (11-10), Delaware (9-5), and William & Mary (5-7) placing them in great position for the championship round.

On Sunday, Queen's faced their stiffest competition of the season, after defeating Maryland, the team went on play Duke in the Quarter Finals. Mounting an impressive comeback late in the game, Queen's came out on top 13-11, putting them in the Semi Finals. A strong 15-10 win over Penn State Alumni gave Queen's a berth in the finals against William & Mary.

The Championship game found themselves down 14-9. Not giving up, Queen's scored five unanswered points to find themselves tied at 14. With the teams having to go ahead by two points to win, Queen's continued their push and took the Championship title 16-14.

The victory marks the biggest victory the team has accomplished in several seasons. Queen's ends their Fall season with two tournament titles, finishing with 15 consecutive wins. They finish ranked 55th in North America, out of over 650 college teams, and will be a contender for a spot at U.S. Nationals this coming spring.
